Contract: Full Time / Permanent - Monday to Thursday, 08:30am – 4:45pm & Friday, 08:30 – 12:30 (35 hours p/w) – Occasional travel, Hybrid working.

What the opportunity looks like:
The role of the Procurement Specialist within Whyte & Mackay Ltd is to develop a Supplier base that will support and service the Dry Goods requirements of the Grangemouth bottling plant. The individual would maintain and develop supplier relationships, while supporting strategic plans to provide continued supply and meet the technical and sustainability needs of Whyte and Mackay today and in the future. The Procurement Specialist will also negotiate pricing, to achieve lowest total cost to the Company by using standard procurement techniques. On occasion, there may be a requirement to support with services and contracts for the site.
- Run the tender process for chosen commodity group – own the process end to end in line with Whyte and Mackay procedures.
- Develop Service Level Agreements for commodity group and ensure compliance.
- The control of Dry Goods material spend within allocated commodity group.
- Select and develop Suppliers capable of meeting the technical and quality needs of today and tomorrow.
- Sourcing new suppliers and building new relationships which are beneficial to Whyte & Mackay.
- Lead the tendering and contracts negotiations process.
Skills and experience that will help you be a success:
For this role we're looking for:
- CIPS qualified at Diploma level or working towards your qualification.
- Previous experience in a procurement function within an FMCG/ manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge & experience of working with an ERP system such as Tropos.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, principles and best practice relating to suppliers and / or third-party management.
- Robust communication skills both verbal and written and must be comfortable to engage with stake holders across all levels of the business using various channels.
- Organised, methodical with the ability to prioritise.
