Salary: £62,310 - £76,150 + £3,000 London Weighting + Car + Bonus

Job Purpose:
As Business Unit Controller, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping and executing bold growth strategies with our London Hub Team. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll inspire, guide, and empower a high-performing team of Business Development Managers to deliver our DVAA ambition and P&Ls across Luxury Independent Free Trade, MSO/Groups, RTM, Specialists, and Luxury Retail. Your mission: to drive The Dalmore’s long-term success through our 5-year growth plan, while building capability and momentum within this exciting new hub.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Growth Strategy
• Lead the delivery of ambitious 5-year growth plans, with The Dalmore as our flagship priority.
• Execute across London’s luxury channels, ensuring our brands are discovered, displayed brilliantly, and recommended with confidence.
• Drive P&L performance with sharp focus on pricing, A&P investment mix, brand portfolio, and KPI delivery.
• Elevate customer engagement through CRM-driven strategies, continuously refining and tracking priority accounts.
• Champion a customer-first mindset, aligning objectives and securing buy-in across W&M stakeholders.
• Strengthen account relationships by enhancing our contact matrix and leveraging customer media and digital platforms to amplify W&M’s whisky-making credentials.
Leading and Managing People
• Inspire your team through coaching, recognition, and role-modelling values-driven behaviors.
• Identify strengths and development areas, empowering individuals to maximise their potential.
• Foster open, honest, and constructive performance conversations, ensuring fairness and respect.
• Set clear expectations with SMART objectives, defining roles and outcomes with precision.
• Lead with adaptability, inclusivity, and accountability—building morale, ownership, and wellbeing across the London Hub.
Measures of Success in the delivered across the organisation next 12 months:
• Deliver year-one milestones of the 5-year Dalmore growth strategy across all London Hub channels.
• Achieve P&L targets including pricing, brand mix, and investment KPIs.
• Implement and track CRM-driven engagement plans across priority accounts.
• Amplify brand visibility and consumer reach through customer media and digital platforms.
Qualifications & Experience & Skills
• Proven commercial leadership at Controller level, with consistent P&L success.
• Expertise across multiple channels, with standout experience in Specialists and strong On-Trade knowledge.
• Customer marketing experience preferred, including category development and shopper marketing solutions.
• Demonstrated success as a Line Manager of a small team.
• Growth mindset and learning agility—able to adapt, apply insights, and drive innovation.
• Skilled in building customer relationships and executing complex joint business plans with rigor and a win-win approach.
• Strong leadership in category development, commercial planning, shopper marketing, selling, negotiation, and coaching.
• Channel & category marketing expertise to plan, execute, and evaluate point-of-purchase activities.
