Job Title: Colleague Communications Specialist
Function: HR - Colleague Experience
Location: 319 Saint Vincent Street, Glasgow, Hybrid - requirement of 2 days in Glasgow. From time to time there will be travel required to our other sites but this is planned in advance and minimal.

What the opportunity looks like:
We're looking for a people focused communication specialist who will create and deliver clear and engaging content, amplifying our people agenda. Working closely with the HR Leadership Team and our broader Leadership Group, you will utilise established internal and external channels, standards and brand guidelines to strengthen colleague connection, understanding and engagement. From offline to online, UK to international, you'll help ensure that communications reaches everyone and supports Whyte and Mackay continuing to be a Great Place to Work (GPTW). Key activities the role will lead on are:
Lead the delivery of the Colleague Communication & Engagement Plan
Support leadership visibility, conferences, and cultural communication moments
Develop and activate colleague‑centred campaigns and community initiatives
Shape and deliver colleague surveys and year‑round GPTW visibility
Partner to shape and activate the Employer Brand and EVP
Integrate colleague communications with brand and whisky communications
Build strong relationships across Distilling & Bottling and other business teams to improve communication effectiveness

For this role we're looking for:
To perform effectively in this role, the job holder will need strong experience in developing and delivering communication and engagement plans, creating high‑quality written and visual content, and managing multiple internal and external communication channels. They should be confident using digital editing and design tools such as Canva or Adobe, and comfortable working with third‑party partners including social media providers, digital agencies, and website support teams. Knowledge of best‑practice communication techniques within a multi‑site environment is essential, along with an understanding of employer brand and EVP activation across candidate and colleague touchpoints. Experience working across varied colleague groups—including office‑based, Off line operational, and field‑based populations, including international, is essential to ensure communication methods are inclusive and accessible.
The role requires strong copy writing, editing and storytelling skills, excellent planning and project management capability, and the ability to communicate and present with confidence. The job holder must be able to work proactively, manage competing deadlines, and bring creativity, curiosity, and cultural awareness to how stories are told across the organisation. They should be digitally savvy, with a good grasp of social media trends and channel optimisation, and able to collaborate effectively, influence stakeholders, and navigate sensitive topics with care. Personal qualities such as being methodical, reliable, pragmatic, and a passionate advocate of great communication will enable the role holder to succeed and continuously improve the colleague experience.
